Chiasms

A chiasm is a literary device. A sequence of events or ideas is presented and then repeated in reverse order. Biblical chiasms are not only for the sake of form; they are also functional. Genesis 2 reverses the order of creation as presented in Genesis 1. why? As scientific Americans we wish it wasn't even there. But ignoring the reality of this chiastic structure imbedded in the very prophetic creation account will cause us to miss the true meaning as the author intended to convey it.

Examples of reverse orders become abundant as the original forms are fulfilled:

1. A betrothed woman leads to first Adam's downfall. A betrothed woman leads to last Adam's upbringing.

2. First Adam is tempted by the serpent through the woman, while still in the garden with plenty to eat and drink. He falls with her and they are driven out together. Last Adam is driven out into the wilderness alone to be with the wild animals and is tempted by the adversary, after not eating for 40 days. He passes the test and returns to the land to rescue his fallen bride.

3. A whole nation comes from the side of last Adam while in a deep sleep on the cross and enters the new betrothal creation, with the first born son already fully in the image of God.

4. Those in the image of the human (the 12 tribes and their proselytes at pentecost) are added to the new creation first. Then the animals are brought in after the human Peter has the animal sheet vision. In the Genesis one creation account the animal realms are created first, then the human is created. In the Genesis two creation account the human is made and then the animals.

In the second prophetic creation account of Genesis chapter two, the land is made with no sea, sun, moon or stars.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new land, for the first heaven and the first land passed away. And the sea is no more(The word usually translated here as 'earth' can also mean 'land'; as in the first covenant land was destroyed, not the planet we have named Earth. The land contains the congregation and the heavens contain the rulers; as in the twelve sons are twelve stars in the realm of the heavens.)

Moses addresses the whole congregation as "heavens" and "land".

Deuteronomy 32:1 Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak. And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

Moses wasn't speaking to the residents of the whole planet was he?

Nor did they leave the planet to enter Sinai?

Exodus 19:1 In the third month after the going forth of the sons of Israel from the earth of Egypt, on this day they entered the wilderness of Sinai.

Revelation 21:23  ALT 23 And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they should be giving it light, for the glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp [is] the Lamb.

"Let there be light"; in the first creation the sun, moon and stars were his light shiners. The nation Israel was a light creation.

Israel: A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head was about to give birth to a new covenant man; Revelation 12:1. (The first Adam came from the dust of the land. The last Adam came from the heavens)

According to Genesis 37:9,10, The sun represents Jacob. The moon represents Rachel. The twelve stars represent their twelve sons. Israel reflected God's light to the world in the first creation. The world outside of Israel is represented by the sea.

The light shined in the darkness. Then the sun, moon and stars were made. The true light then arrived to shine more in the darkness that had overtaken the land. The sun, moon and stars are then unmade. The new covenant creation is filled with light by the source of light Himself. The types are fulfilled. True light is now independent of location or times and seasons.

Yeshua is the new first born son of the new covenant creation. The man who was named Yeshua by His Father Yahwey, was completly raised into God's image before the second creation even got started. God did not start the new covenant with a new man in order to lift him into God's image. He resurrected from the old creation the only human to be fully raised up into His image.

Jesus now gives light to all creation. The original great commision to Adam is fulfilled by Yeshua as he trains and sends the Holy Spirit to the twelve. He still births and raises new sons and daughters through His universal congregation called the city of God. The high walls around the new city were made by the Jewish dispersed gospel. Pictured at the walls and the gates are none other than the twelve apostles and the twelve tribesEvangelism still holds open the gates for anyone to become a new citizen of the 2000 year old city of Yahwey.

Revelation 21:11-14  CLV 11 having the glory from God. Her luminosity is like a stone most precious, as a crystalline jasper gem, 12 having a wall, huge and high, having twelve portals, and at the portals twelve messengers, and their names inscribed, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel." 13 From the east are three portals, and from the north three portals, and from the south three portals, and from the west three portals." 14 And the wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb."

Revelation reveals who the twelve messengers were who opened the gospel gates to the world. They were the descendents of Israel's twelve sons. After hearing the gospel from the apostles at Pentecost the sons of Israel took the gospel back to their hometowns. The twelve tribes were scattered throughout the world and speaking the various languages. Talk about reversing the curse of Babel; they miraculousley heard the gospel in their new native tongues. And the city was extending downward from the heavens not being built upward toward the heavens. The twelve tribes were already pre-evangelizing the world by making Jewish proselytes from every nation (in the realms of wild beasts, flying creatures, reptiles and the sea) because through the diaspora Moses was being read in every city thusly humanizing the nations. The member of the Jewish body that Jacob said was untamable was the tongue. By way of the Holy Spirit even it was tamed and employed for Christian evangelism. Only the Holy Spirit could overcome their traditional expectations.

A Message From Jacob To The Twelve Tribes Scattered: For some unknown reason we sometimes change Jacob's name to 'James'. Jacob (father of Joseph who was a type of Christ) was the father of the nation Israel in the old. He adressed his twelve sons together as he was dying. We never change his name to James. Jacob is traditionally the pastor of the first congregation in Jerusalem and son of Joseph in the reversal. He adresses the twelve tribes scattered after being born anew. We always change his name to James, which causes us to miss the literary devices.

James 3:1-18 CLV 1 Not many should become teachers, my brethren, being aware that we shall be getting greater judgment." 2 For we all are tripping much. If anyone is not tripping in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also." 3 Now if we are thrusting the horses' bits into their mouths, so that they are yielding to us, we are steering their whole body also with it." 4 Lo! the ships also, being of such proportions, and driven by hard winds, are being steered by the least rudder, wherever the impulse of the helmsman is intending." 5 Thus the tongue, also, is a little member and is grandiloquent. Lo! What amount of fire is kindling what amount of material!" 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of injustice. The tongue is constituted among our members that which is spotting the whole body, and setting the wheel of our lineage aflame, and is set aflame by Gehenna." 7 For every nature, both of wild beasts and flying creatures, both of reptiles and those of the salt sea, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature." 8Yet the tongue can no man tame - a turbulent evil, distended with death-carrying venom." 9 With it we are blessing the Lord and Father, and with it we are cursing men who have come to be in accord with God's likeness." 10 Out of the same mouth is coming forth blessing and cursing. There is no need, my brethren, for this to become thus." 11 No spring out of the same hole is venting the sweet and the bitter. 12 No fig tree, my brethren, can produce olives, nor a grapevine figs. Thus neither does brine produce sweet water." 13 Who is wise and an adept among you? Let him show his works by an ideal behavior in meekness of wisdom. 14 Now if you are having bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, are you not vaunting against and falsifying the truth? 15 This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but terrestrial, soulish, demoniacal. " 16 For wherever jealousy and faction are, there is turbulence also, and every bad practice." 17 Now the wisdom from above is first, indeed, pure, thereupon peaceable, lenient, compliant, bulging with mercy and good fruits, undiscriminating, unfeigned." 18Now the fruit of righteousness is being sown in peace for those making peace.

Ephesians 2:12 CLV 12 that you were, in that era, apart from Christ, being alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and guests of the promise covenants, having no expectation, and without God in the world.

Epesians 2:19 CLV 19 Consequently, then, no longer are you guests and sojourners, but are fellow-citizens of the saints and belong to God's family,

Hebrews 12:22   CLV 22 But you have come to mount Zion, and the city of the living God, celestial Jerusalem, and to ten thousand messengers,

Galatians 6:10-18  ALT 10 So, consequently, as we have opportunity, let us be working the good [thing] to all, but especially to the [ones] of the household of the faith. 11 See with what large letters I wrote to youp with my own hand! 12 As many as want to make a good showing [or, impression] in [the] flesh, these compel [or, urge] youp to be circumcised, only so that they shall not be getting persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 For not even the ones having been circumcised are themselves keeping the Law, but they want for youp to be getting circumcised, so that they should boast in yourp flesh. 14 But for me, [I will] absolutely not boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by means of whom to me [the] world has been crucified and I to the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither does circumcision have any power [or, avail anything] nor uncircumcision, but a new creation! 16 And as many as are keeping in line with this measuring rod [fig., following this standard], peace upon them and mercy and on the Israel of God! 17 Finally, let no one give me hardships, for I bear the scars [or, ownership brand marks] of the Lord Jesus in my body. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be]with yourp spirit, brothers [and sisters]! So be it!

The symbolism of circumcision that looked forward to the new creation on the eighth day was fulfilled. Eschaton Adam completed the image of God in man and then He entered the new land on the sabbath. Jesus took the completed image of God from the old covenant to the new covenant. Sabbath to sabbath is eight days. He healed the whole man on the sabbath.

John 7:22-24 LITV 22 Because of this Moses has given you circumcision; (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on a sabbath, you circumcise a man. 23 If a man receives circumcision on a sabbath, that the Law of Moses is not broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man entirely sound on a sabbath? 24 Do not judge according to sight, but judge righteous judgment.

Adam was placed in the garden on the sabbath. Adam walked with God in the garden until he fell into law; knowledge of good and evil. Jesus took the law and the curse of the law to the tree of good and evil. We continue to have access to the Spirit of God today because of the rescue work of the cross. Jesus hung on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to put the first covenant man to death on purpose. You can never know anything more good or more evil than what hung from that tree; the cross of Christ. He is then called the first fruit in the new land. When we partake of His Spirit he writes His law on our hearts. He is the entirely sound covenant man who was raised for us on the sabbath. He had to completely kill him to heal us.

Hosea 6:2  LXX He will heal us after two days; in the third day we will rise up; and we live in His presence.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 YLT 12 For, even as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ, 13 for also in one Spirit we all to one body were baptized, whether Jews or Greeks, whether servants or freemen, and all into one Spirit were made to drink, 14 for also the body is not one member, but many;

1 Corinthians 15:20 LITV 20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead; He became the firstfruit of those having fallen asleep.

Jesus entered the land on the 10th day of the first month followed by a second cleansing of the temple. He alludes to the leprocy laws for an unclean house saying not one stone will be left on another. Then He sheds His blood for their chronic infectious condition followed by a 3rd day resurrection to an clean covenant on the 17th, then a 40-day rather than a 40-year trek before the new law man to enters the promised land ahead of the people, then a holy Spirit betrothal 10 days later in the 3rd month. His people had to finish the 40 year trek through the wilderness of covenant transition to AD 70, but they all made it to the promised land instead of only the two typical witnesses; Joshua and Caleb. John and Jesus were the two faithful witnesses who died outside the new covenant land. God apparently loves the chiastic structure. His poetry works.

1. Adam disobeyed and was cursed. Genesis 3:19 ECB 19 in the sweat of your nostrils, eat your bread, until you return to the soil; for thereof you were taken: for dust you are and to dust you returnLast Adam sweat blood to obediently take the cursed crown of thorns from the land.

2. First Adam was naked and unashamed until he had to leave Eden covered in the first animal sacrifice. Last Adam was born into the sacrificial system and died naked as the last sacrifice bearing our shame.

3. First Adam hid and blamed God for giving him the woman, as he was tried by God for his disobedience in the garden of Eden. He was then expelled from the land. Last Adam asked why God forsook him as the false witnesses murdered him for telling God's truth. He said, Father forgive them. He was resurrected as the firstborn son for the new land. His bride from his side was rescued from the fall.

4. "Let us make Adam in our image"  First Adam believed the adversary and fell in the garden. Last Adam believed God's word and passed the adversary's test in the wilderness. He returned to the land with Holy Spirit power to rule it. He later said, If you have seen me you have seen the Father.

When tested by the adversary, Job wasn't the perfect human like Jesus, but he didn't fall like Adam either.

Job 27:3 He defended his spiritual walk with God

LITV 3 As long as my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils,

Galatians 5:16-18

CLV 16 Now I am saying, Walk in spirit, and you should under no circumstances be consummating the lust of the flesh." 17 For the flesh is lusting against the spirit, yet the spirit against the flesh. Now these are opposing one another, lest you should be doing whatever you may want." 18 Now, if you are led by spirit, you are not still under law."

Romans 8:9

CLV 9 Yet you are not in flesh, but in spirit, if so be that God's spirit is making its home in you. Now if anyone has not Christ's spirit, this one is not His."

The new covenant head man can't fall. The old covenant flesh mode that first Adam led us into ended in AD 70. Last Adam died and was reborn by the Spirit, then rebirthed his people by sending the Spirit. They could not see the kingdom until they were born again. Those who desired to keep the law mode in the flesh rejected the spirit filled man and fulfilled the desires of their flesh by murdering Stephen and scattering the church. Saul walked in the flesh persecuting his fellow Jews until He met the new covenant man, then Paul walked in the Spirit.
