Hebrews 8:1-8 A letter to the house of Israel and the house of Judah

YLT 1 And the sum concerning the things spoken of is : we have such a chief priest, who did sit down at the right hand of the throne of the greatness in the heavens, 2 of the holy places a servant, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord did set up, and not man, 3 for every chief priest to offer both gifts and sacrifices is appointed, whence it is necessary for this one to have also something that he may offer; 4 for if, indeed, he were upon earth, he would not be a priest—(there being the priests who are offering according to the law, the gifts, 5 who unto an example and shadow do serve of the heavenly things, as Moses hath been divinely warned, being about to construct the tabernacle, for `See (saith He) thou mayest make all things according to the pattern that was shewn to thee in the mount;') — 6 and now he hath obtained a more excellent service, how much also of a better covenant is he mediator, which on better promises hath been sanctioned, 7 for if that first were faultless, a place would not have been sought for a second. 8 For finding fault, He saith to them, `Lo, days come, saith the Lord, and I will complete with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah, a new covenant,

Of course "earth" in the verse above refers to the old covenant "land", since Hebrew priests were already serving according to law, in the temple, which was still standing in the old covenant land. Jesus could not be an old covenant priest according to law and now no one can even be in the old covenant.
  

The new high priest entered the true temple for the sake of the Hebrews.


Hebrews 9:24

ECB 24 For the Messiah entered not the handmade Holies - antitypes of the true; but the heavens thereof, to manifest for us now at the face of Elohim:
 

He made for them a better covenant with better promises.


Hebrews 10:16

YLT 16 `This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, giving My laws on their hearts, and upon their minds I will write them,'

After what days?


Daniel 9:24
THE VISION OF THE SEVENTY WEEKS 
ECB 24  Seventy weeks are cut on your people and on your holy city to restrain the rebellion and to seal up sins and to kapar/atone for perversity and to bring in eternal justness and to seal up the vision and the prophet and to anoint the holy of holies.

The kingdoms' image had the clay Jews in it's feet until AD 70.


Daniel 2:34

LITV 34 You continued until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces.

Acts 7:48 (Said one of the 12 to the 12 tribes,"...")

LITV 48 But the Most High does not dwell in temples made by hand, as the prophet says,

The Jews said they heard their about-to-be new Chief Priest say He would build another temple (for Yahwey to dwell in). 


Mark 14:58 

LITV 58 We heard Him saying, I will throw down this temple made with hands, and through three days I will build another not made with hands.

The body of Christ is the new temple.

Mark 14:58 Interlinear Translation That we hear of Him saying, "I shall be demolishing this the temple made by the hands and in three days another not made by hands I shall be building". (the image of God is in the building {verb})

 

Some Gentiles were even being added to the made-new Hebrew assembly; "you also".


Ephesians 2:20-22

ALT 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being [the] cornerstone, 21 in whom [the] entire building having been joined together is growing into a holy temple in [the] Lord, 22 in whom also you(p) are being built together into a habitation for God in the Spirit.

Jesus stood in the old covenant and stood again in the new covenant so His people could stand again.


1 Peter 1:1 

SALUTATION

1 Peter 1:3  (Written to the born again Jews in the pilgrim diaspora)

YLT 3 Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to the abundance of His kindness did beget us again to a living hope, through the rising again of Jesus Christ out of the dead,

pilgrim παρεπίδημος - parepidēmos - par-ep-id'-ay-mos 

Thayer:
1) one who comes from a foreign country into a city or land to reside there by the side of the natives 
2) a stranger 
3) sojourning in a strange place, a foreigner 
4) in the NT metaph. in reference to heaven as the native country, one who sojourns on earth

diaspora διασπορά - diaspora - dee-as-por-ah' 

Dodson: dispersion 
lit: scattering abroad of seed by the sower, hence: dispersion, used especially of the Jews who had migrated and were scattered over the ancient world.

1 Peter 2:11-12

CLV 11 Beloved, I am entreating you, as sojourners and expatriates, to be abstaining from the fleshly lusts which are warring against the soul,12 having your behavior among the nations ideal, that in that in which they are speaking against you as of evildoers, by being spectators of ideal acts they should be glorifying God in the day of visitation."

Hebrews 11:13

13 All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but who saw and greeted them from afar and who confessed that they were foreign and in sojourn upon the land.

Hebrews 11:16

CLV 16 Yet now they are craving a better, that is, a celestial; wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be invoked as their God, for He makes ready for them a city."

Revelation 1:14-19 

LITV 14 And the hairs of His head were white as white wool, as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire; 15 and His feet like burnished brass having been fired in a furnace; and His voice as a sound of many waters; 16 and having in His right hand seven stars; and a sharp, two-edged sword proceeding out of His mouth, and His face shining as the sun in its power. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet, as dead. And He put His right hand on me, saying to me, Do not fear. I am the First and the Last, 18 and the Living One; and I became dead; and, behold, I am living forever and ever. Amen. And I have the keys to Hades, and of death. 19 Write what things you saw, and what things are, and what things are about to occur after these things.

Revelation 11:2 (This was still future to them because the old city and the temple were still standing, but in 67-70 AD they were both destroyed)

KJV 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. (3.5 years)

;the war, ending in the destruction of Jerusalem, lasted from spring A.D. 67 to autumn A.D. 70, that is, just three and a half years, or the last half week of years [Josephus, Wars of the Jews, 6.6].

There is no old covenant for Jesus to stand in again. He stood again and will stand forever in the new.

THE LIVING HOPE 
Eulogized be the Elohim and Father of our Adonay Yah Shua Messiah; who according to his vast mercy rebirthed us to a living hope through the resurrection of Yah Shua Messiah from the dead:

1 Peter 1:4  (The new covenant is kept incorruptible)

CLV 4 for the enjoyment of an allotment incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, kept in the heavens for you,

Revelation was written before AD 70. The temple was still standing in the old covenant land. The Revelation of Jesus Christ is about the glory of God's new creation (being persecuted) and about the old covenant which was about to be destroyed. The old creation prodded Rome to join them in their persecution, until Rome got fed up and turned it back on them, then the beast from the sea destroyed the beast from the land. When beasts do battle it is best to get out of their way. Before that war there was an obvious clash between old covenant unbelievers and new covenant believers. Now there is no one in the old covenant to clash with. Don't be fooled though, deception still wants to rule.

Acts 14:2 (The unbelieving Jews turned the nations against Christians)

ALT 2 But the refusing to believe Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers [and sisters].
  
So stand firm in the teachings of Jesus and His Jewish followers.

2 Thessalonians 2:15

LITV 15 So, then, brothers, stand firm and strongly hold the teachings you were taught, whether by word or by our letter.

Psalms 119:19
