THE HEAVENS RULE THE EARTH
Most of us don't check our horoscopes as if the literal stars rule over us. We realize that even heavenly metaphors can be taken too far. But if the sun always stands still, then it was really the earth and the moon that stopped moving that day, according to Joshua 10:13. Isn't that too much flip-flopping for one verse to bear?
For thousands of years astronomers took it for granted that the earth is stationary and the sun and planets are revolving around it, until Copernicus published his book to the contrary, stating that the earth was in fact orbiting around the sun. Galileo took it from there; the earth was not stationary; the ancient astronomers and the church fathers were wrong.
THE SPIN ZONE
Take a look at what our most famous scientists had to posit in order to 'prove' a stationary sun rather than a stationary earth!
Michelson and Morley first performed their now famous experiments to show that the earth was in fact moving. But when they carried out their experiments they could detect no earth motion. They realized their experiments were complete failures. They could find no evidence that the earth was in motion. Michelson tried for the rest of his life to prove that the earth was moving but could find no evidence for it.
This put the physicists at an impasse. Something had to be wrong. How could the earth be the center of the solar system? Were the ancient astronomers and the plain reading of the Bible right all along? Couldn't be!
LET THE SPINNING BEGIN
All we need is a new theory to explain why the experiments falsely supported what almost everyone took for granted: that the earth is the stationary place where we live as the heavens rule around us.
To explain away all the "failed" experiments Scientists concluded that the light emitting apparatus used by Michelson and Morley was in fact contracting while they tried to do their experiment. This was due to the later-to-be-developed theory of relativity. Of course this shortening can't be measured, you just have to believe it. This phenomenon is called the Lorentz transformation. Hendrik Lorentz said, I have no other explanation unless I contract the apparatus doing the measurement. (or keep on believing the earth is stationary, which was for some reason out of the question)
It is the responsibility of God's people to uphold the truth about His cosmos.
Christian leaders shine as stars on earth. Moses addressed God's people as heaven and earth.
After the theory of relativity was professedly passed into law, collaborating scientists ran into another impasse. There was not enough matter in the universe to account for the behavior of the galaxies according this new theory of relativity. Then they found evidence for dark matter and black holes. Conveniently enough, we can't see or even approach a black hole. The immeasurable phenomenon used to debunk the Michelson and Morley experiments depends on relativity which depends on unseeable black holes and dark matter.
The scientism of heliocentrism seems to require obedience to a faith supported by things we can't see or understand. Maybe most of history is still right and the sun still rules and the earth still stands; this was obvious to everyone before they were re-schooled. One of the metaphors built into God's creation is the light of the cosmos. It rises and then lifts His people up from their night of slumber. The Son rises to set you free to see the full light of day. He is the light of the world.
Scientism asks us to believe in relativity, in black holes that suck in even the light and then in the imperceptible contraction produced by their theory. There are more unbelievable things too, like curved space, and time that is no longer defined by a sequence of events, but is actually a place or a part of the fabric of space. After time becomes a 'place' then one may travel from 'place' to 'place' and nonsense ensues. Time travel creates chaos not science.

Physicist Laura Mersini-Houghton said, "Black holes can't exist because two long-held scientific theories -- quantum mechanics and general relativity -- conflict." Her conclusion: “There is no such thing as a black hole.”

"THE AXIS OF EVIL"
This term 'axis of evil' was used by some scientists who did not like the results of the three seperate experiments recently conducted by space probes. They were launched in 1990, 2001 and 2009. The last one was conducted by the European space program in conjunction with NASA. It was the latest attempt to measure the uniformity of the background radiation. The data came back for the third time pointing 'inappropriately' to the earth as the center. The axis formed through the earth by the irregular background radiation is supposedly leftover from the creation of the cosmos (big bang to scientism). This is another set of scientific experiments that places the earth at center stage of God's overruling heavens. What is so evil about that?
WHAT ABOUT FOUCAULT'S PENDULUM?
If you watch the pendulum long enough it will alter it's course and this is then given as proof of the earth's rotation. If you watch the ocean long enough it too will alter it's course. The tides come in and the tides goes out. The waters in the oceans are pulled back and forth by heavenly mass. Movement of the sun and the moon is believed to cause the tides. The arc of the pendulum may be the same way. The heavy weight on the end of a string is altered by the mass in the rotating universe. At the equater no effect on the pendulum is noticed because the universe is rotating directly around the equater.
Some scientists believe we are part of the moving solar system, which is part of the moving galaxy, which is part of the moving universe. If we add up all these velocities, the earth is said to be sailing 900 km/s through space. 900 km/h is as fast as a commercial jet can travel. With those theories, the earth supposedly travels through space in one second the same distance it would take the jet one hour to travel at top speed. That is pretty fast, considering that is so hard to prove the earth is even moving.

Every 6 months the earth supposedly has moved to the opposite side of the sun. Since we would be viewing our galaxy from a different position in space, the more distant stars should appear to be in different places when seen in the backdrop of the closer stars. Thus, when the ancient Greek astronomer Aristarchus proposed heliocentricm over 2000 years ago it was dismissed, since there was then no detectable parallax. Scientists now say that the reason the stellar parallax can not be observed is because the stars in the background are so far away.
Even with recent telescope technology, the stellar parallax of only about three thousand stars has been observed with what they call "reasonable accuracy". They then use these reasonably accurate measurements to calculate how far away the stars 'really' are. This is again a bit of circular reasoning. The reason heliocentrism was rejected 2000 years ago was because they could not find any stellar parallax. We allegedly could not detect it because the stars are so far away. Now that we can detect the minutest stellar parallax. We assume it is caused by the earth moving to the other side of the sun and we use this assumption to calculate how far away the stars are. This most minute amount of stellar parallax could just as easily be caused by the rotation of the universe around the equater. After all, we do send up satellites to get better parallax measurements because the ones from earth don't work so well.
Mach, Einstein, the Enlightenment and Hubble
Ernst Mach explained to us how a rotating universe can produce the same coriolis phenomenon as a rotating earth. Albert Einstein seems to have extrapolated his relativity theory after Mach's interpretation of our solar system.

Albert Einstein became a most celebrated media celebrity after he offered a theory that allowed the Enlightenment thinkers a way to escape the unwanted results of the Michelson and Morley experiments that repeatedly confirmed the stationary earth. Einstein saved the Enlightenment scholars from geocentrism and all that it implies: such as occupying a unique positon in the universe. I don't blame the Enlightenment philosophers for wanting to undermine the authority of the corrupt church and monarchy, but corruption is not cleaned up by way of continual deception. It is merely relocated. True science obtains better results.
Even Edwin Hubble showed intolerance to a theory simply because it placed the earth in a unique position.

But we would not expect to find a distribution in which the density increases with distance, symmetrically in all directions. The hypothesis cannot be disproved but it is unwelcome and would be accepted only as a last resort in order to save the phenomena. Therefore, we disregard this possibility and consider the alternative, namely, a distribution which thins out with distance."
The theory of geocentrism certainly places the earth in a unique and more biblical position and maybe this is why it was disregarded.
Stephen Hawking seems to think it is more humble for him not to be at the center of the universe. God's people are raised on the only stationary planet ruled by the heavens? The earth is in God's spotlight because He wants the truth to tame our behavior and lift us into the noble human image of His Son. As you probably know, people still slaughter people in the name of religious falsehoods. Most infamously, the political Crusades were not the work of the true Son of God, and now the middle east conflicts are not in the image of the Son either. Jerusalem is in fact being filled with anti-Son of God builders. Yet the Catholic Crusades and recent mid-east conflicts were both claimed to be neccessary by some people professing to be followers of Christ. Some Christians now think the earth needs to spin out of control so the Son of God will return. Some Christians actually think the end of this planet is inevitable, but first the world must keep getting worse and worse.
Are we time travelers?
Jerusalem was already full of unbelief in the AD 70 judgement. But time statements don't seem to apply to eschatology do they? And that is why 'end times' (end of the age) Bible interpretation is in such chaos. How many times can we go back and end the old covenant age? We are creating an anti-good news world. Is there an Antiverse Bible being used to promote this cosmic chaos?
A TV series was made about Stephen Hawking called, 'Master Of The Universe'. He believes the universe is a contained entity with no boundries (due to endless stretching I suppose) and that the future of the human race is in outer space due to the possibility of global warming and nuclear war. The future is in fact in heaven for God's children after they die. The future of the human race on earth however, would be greatly enhanced by the truthful behavior of God's children still living here. The image of God in humanity is not in the hands of scientism or the mid-east. The image of God is being created in His people by the Holy Spirit, first sent by the Son to His people in Jerusalem.
If the literal host of heavens metaphorically rules the earth, then the earth should be kept in it's place by the action of the heavens. I'm not saying all of creation is an exact metaphor. There is no such thing. That is what makes creation metaphorical. God's rulers on earth are sometimes called heaven and other times called stars. They rule the land from their exalted position. If the sun really is standing still, then we will have to call it accommodation, since the sun apparently moves.
Accommodation - God speaks to his audience at their leval in ways that they can understand. Since the original audience did not know the earth was rotating, God spoke as if it were standing still.
Who was given the authority to rule in God's kingdom? Adam? Old covenant people? Nebuchadnezzer? Cyrus? Alexander? Caesar? Christ? New covenant people? Handing the kingdom over took place as a series of straightforward events used to mark the passage of time.
