Due to Israel's 'grown-up' unbelief, only their 'children' would enter the kingdom land, and only after 40 years passed.

Numbers 14:30-33

Thomson 30 None of you shall come into that land, respecting which I stretched forth my hand to cause you to dwell therein, save only Chaleb son of Jephonne, and Joshua son of Nave. 31 But as for your children, which you said would be for a prey, them I will bring into the land, and they shall inherit that land which you have rejected32 Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness, and in this wilderness 33 your children shall be fed forty years. They shall bear your whoredom until your carcasses are consumed in the wilderness.

Jesus told his followers to be like the children because in fulfillment of the types, only the children of God would inherit the promised kingdom.

Matthew 10:5-7 To the Jew first.
LITV 5 Jesus sent these twelve out, charging them, saying: Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not go into a Samaritan city. 6 But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And going on, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

Matthew 10:17-19 The unbelieving Jews would persecute the 12.
 YAH SHUA PROPHESIES BETRAYAL
ECB 17  But heed humanity: for they betray you to the sanhedrim; and they scourge you in their synagogues; 18 and bring you in front of governors and sovereigns for my sake, in a witness against them and the goyim. 19 And whenever they betray you be not anxious how or what to speak: for in that same hour you are given what to speak:

Matthew 10:40-42 Jesus called the disciples, the "little ones".

LITV 40 The one receiving you receives Me, and the one receiving Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 The one receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one receiving a just one in the name of a just one will receive a just one's reward. 42 And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to drink to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, In no way will he lose his reward.

A millstone around the neck is a hyperbole for servitude. Drown in the sea is a figure of speech for loss of Jewish identity in the diaspora. That person would be better off than the unbelieving Jews who rejected Jesus and drove the believing Jews out of their old covenant land of Jerusalem.

Matthew 18:1-6

LITV 1 In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who then is greater in the kingdom of Heaven? 2 And having called forward a little child, Jesus set him in their midst. 3 And He said, Truly I say to you, Unless you convert and become as the little children, not at all can you enter into the kingdom of Heaven. 4 Then whoever will humble himself as this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven. 5 And whoever will receive one such little child in My name receives Me. 6 But whoever causes one of these little ones believing in Me to offend, it is better for him that a millstone turned by an ass be hung on his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

Only the 'children' entered the land after the second exodus too.

John 3:7

ALT 7 "Stop marveling that I said to you, 'It is necessary [for] you(p) to be born from above [or, born again].'"

Jesus passed his test in the wilderness and entered the land after 40 days, with kingdom power to rule over even demons. He said he was sent to proclaim the kingdom gospel to the Jewish cities. Is there another gospel other than believe in Jesus? Like Joshua, Jesus was not afraid of the unfaithful people in the promised land.

Luke 4

ALT 1 Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan [River] and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted forty days by the Devil. And He did not eat anything in those days, and they having been completed, afterward He was hungry. 3 And the Devil said to Him, "Since You are God's Son, speak to this stone that it shall become bread." 4 And Jesus answered to him, saying, "It has been written, '{The} person will not live on bread only, but on every word of God.'" [Deut 8:3] 5 And the Devil, having brought Him into a high mountain, showed to Him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in a moment of time. 6 And the Devil said to Him, "I will give to You all this authority and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I shall be desiring. 7 "Therefore, if You prostrate Yourself in worship before me all will be Yours." 8 And answering, Jesus said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! It has been written, 'You will prostrate yourself in worship before the LORD your God, and Him only you will sacredly serve.'" [Deut 6:13] 9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to Him, "Since You are God's Son, throw Yourself down from here. 10 "For it has been written, 'To His angels He will give orders concerning You, to guard over You,' 11 and, 'They will lift You up on [their] hands, lest You strike Your foot against a stone.'" [Psalm 91:11,12] 12 And answering, Jesus said to him, "It has been said, 'You will not put the LORD your God to the test.'" [Deut 6:16] 13 And having completed every temptation, the Devil departed from Him until an [opportune] time. 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news went out through the whole surrounding region concerning Him. 15 And He began teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all. 16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And He entered, according to His custom, on the day of the Sabbaths into the synagogue, and He stood up to read aloud [the Scriptures]. 17 And a scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And having unrolled the scroll, He found the place where it had been written: 18 "[The] Spirit of [the] LORD [is] upon Me, on account of which He anointed Me to proclaim the Gospel to poor [ones]; He has sent Me to heal the ones having been broken [in] heart [fig., who have become despondent within themselves], to proclaim deliverance to captives and recovery of sight to blind [ones], to send away [ones] having been oppressed with deliverance, 19 To proclaim [the] acceptable year of the LORD." [Isaiah 61:1,2] 20 And having rolled up the scroll, having returned [it] to the attendant, He sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were looking intently on Him. 21 Then He began to be saying to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your(p) ears." 22 And all were bearing witnesses to Him [or, were speaking well of Him], and they were wondering at the gracious words, the ones having come out from His mouth. And they were saying, "This is the Son of Joseph, is it not?" 23 And He said to them, "Certainly, you(p) will say this allegory [or, proverb] to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself— as many [things] as we heard having been done in Capernaum, do also here in Your hometown.'" 24 Then He said, "Positively, I say to you(p), no prophet is accepted in his hometown. 25 "But I say to you(p) in truth, many widows were in Israel during the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three years and six months, when great famine came upon all the land; 26 and to none of them was Elijah sent, except to Zarephath [in] the [region] of Sidon, to a woman, a widow. 27 "And many lepers [or, ones with a skin disease] were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed, except Naaman the Syrian." 28 And all [the people] in the synagogue were filled with rage, hearing these things. 29 And having risen, they forced Him outside the city and brought Him as far as [the] brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to thrown Him down from the cliff. 30 But He, having passed through [the] middle of them, went away. 31 And He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths. 32 And they were being astonished at His teaching, because His word was with authority. 33 And in the synagogue was a man having a spirit of an unclean [or, defiling] demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, "Away! What to us and to You [fig., What have we to do with You], Jesus, O Nazarene? Did You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are— the Holy One of God!" 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silenced, and come out from him!" And the demon having thrown him down into [the] midst, came out from him, in no way having harmed him. 36 And amazement came upon all, and they were conversing with one another, saying, "What [is] this word, that with authority and power He commands the unclean [or, defiling] spirits, and they come out?" 37 And a report concerning Him was spreading into every place of the surrounding region. 38 Then having risen from the synagogue, He entered into the house of Simon. But Simon's mother-in-law was being afflicted with a high fever, and they asked Him about her. 39 And having stood over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her! Then immediately, having risen, she began serving them. 40 Then [at] the setting of the sun, all, as many as were having ones being sick [with] various diseases, brought them to Him. Then having put His hands on each one of them, that One healed them. 41 But demons also were coming out from many, crying out and saying, "You are the Christ, the Son of God!" And rebuking [them], He would not allow them to be speaking, because they knew Him to be the Christ. 42 Now day having come, having gone out, He went into a deserted place, and the crowds were seeking Him, and they came to Him and were trying to restrain Him [so He would] not be going from them. 43 But He said to them, "It is necessary [for] Me to also proclaim the Gospel of the kingdom of God to the other cities, for this [reason] I have been sent." 44 And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

The religious leaders were afraid the people's faith in Jesus. The religious leaders feared they would lose their position and they feared the giant government. Deception was more real to them than the true gospel kingdom Jesus was preaching about.

Fear of big government and their lack of belief in Jesus caused them to conspire and kill their king. They politically saved themselves from the Jesus followers by removing Him and them from their culture.

John 11:47-48

ALT 47 Therefore, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together a High Council [or, Sanhedrin] and said, "What are we doing? For this Person is performing many signs! 48 "If we leave Him in this way, all will believe [or, trust] in Him, and the Romans will come and will take away both our place and nation."

Then He was resurrected. Then after 40 days in Jerusalem the king ascended. He went to the Father and sent his kingdom power to us; to prepare the new city of God. Abundant grace was added to the gospel of the kingdom. Jesus earned the power of the Holy Spirit's presence under old covenant law. He grants to us His Holy Spirit, so we too can be raised into His image. The new covenant is better because it provides Jesus' power to believe.

Acts 1:3 (After His resurrection He is still preaching the kingdom)

Jesus said his mission was to unite and perfect his beloved Jewish body of followers so that the world may be knowing it; mission accomplished.

John 17:22-23

We are one body in spirit but not in Jewish flesh.

1 Corinthians 15:50

ALT 50 Now this I say, brothers [and sisters], that flesh and blood is not able to inherit [the] kingdom of God, nor does the corruption [or, perishable] inherit the incorruption [or, imperishable].

Romans 8:9 (Born again Jews inherited the kingdom)

ALT 9 But you(p) are not in [the] flesh but in [the] Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you(p); but if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His.

After riding toward Jerusalem on a donkey as a king of peace, Jesus told the chief priests and elders that Jewish harlots and tax collectors were entering the kingdom because they believed, but not them.

Matthew 21:31-32

LITV 31 Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God. 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

Unfaithful Israel acted the harlot and tax collector by rejecting their God and marrying up with Rome. She was held accountable for the blood of the saints.

Revelation 17:5-7 (Rome was the fourth beast of Daniel that Jerusalem did ride)

LITV 5 And on her forehead was a name having been written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth. 6 And I saw the woman being drunk from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marveled, seeing her with a great marveling. 7 And the angel said to me, Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast supporting her, the one having the seven heads and the ten horns.

1 Corinthians 6:16-17

ALT 16  {Or} you(p) know that the one joined to the prostitute is one body [with her], do you(p) not? For He says, "They will be— the two— into one flesh [or, The two will become one flesh]" [Gen 2:24]. 17 But the one joined to the Lord is one spirit [with Him].

Faithful Israel inherited the kingdom. Those who show love for Christians are the faithful.

Matthew 25:32-46

LITV 32 And before Him shall be gathered all the nations; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And indeed He will set the sheep off His right, but the goats off the left hand . 34 Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, the blessed of My Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. 37 Then the righteous will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You; or thirsting, and gave You drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in; or naked, and clothed You ? 39 And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? 40 And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me. 41 Then He will also say to those on His left, Go away from Me, cursed ones, into the everlasting fire having been prepared for the Devil and his angels. 42 For I hungered, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I thirsted, and you gave me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not take Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me. 44 Then they also will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You? 45 Then He will answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of these, the least, neither did you do it to Me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

This translator left out the word "the" before "death" and "life".

1 John 3:14

LITV 14 We know that we have passed from death to life because we love the brothers. The one not loving the brother remains in death.

Those in "the death" wanted to kill those in "the life".

1 John 3:15

CLV 15 Everyone who is hating his brother is a man-killer, and you are aware that no man-killer at all has life eonian remaining in him."

Human-killer, anthrōpoktonos, ἀνθρωποκτόνος, anth-ro-pok-ton'-os: From two words meaning 'humanity' and 'to kill'. This word is used in only two verses in the bible: 1John 3:15 and John 8:44. The devil was the original humanity killer. Humanity is the image of God in Adam now raised to the image of God in Jesus. Christianity is the new Humanity.

Paul was an old covenant Jew in "the death" before he met Jesus and escaped it. He was trying  to kill the image of God in the resurrected new creation humanity. He was a well known humanity killer at the beginning of the new creation. Saul was working for the devil.

Jesus used the word "humanity-killer" speaking to the Jews who wanted to kill Him; the perfect humanity. Jesus sufferred the death to His old covenant life right before he physically died.

John 8:44 (The devil brought "the death" to the first human.)

YLT 44 `Ye are of a father—the devil, and the desires of your father ye will to do; he was a man-slayer from the beginning, and in the truth he hath not stood, because there is no truth in him; when one may speak the falsehood, of his own he speaketh, because he is a liar—also his father.

Hebrews 12:25  (Warning to the first century Hebrews in covenant transition)

My Interlinear Translation 25 Watch that you do not refuse the One speaking; for if they did not escape when they refused Him who divinely warned them on land, much more us, turning away from Him from Heaven;

The blood of Able (and Jesus) meant AD 70 judgement to unbelievers in the land.

Matthew 23:29-39

CLV 29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are building the sepulchers of the prophets and adorning the tombs of the just, 30 and you are saying, 'If we were in the days of our fathers, we would not be participants with them in the blood of the prophets.'" 31 So that you are testifying to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murder the prophets. 32 And you! Fill full the measure of your father! 33 Serpents! Progeny of vipers! How may you be fleeing from the judging of Gehenna? 34 Therefore, lo! I am dispatching to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Of them, some you will be killing and crucifying, and of them, some you will be scourging in your synagogues and persecuting from city to city, 35 so that on you should be coming all the just blood shed on the earth, from the blood of just Abel until the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murder between the temple and the altar." 36 Verily, I am saying to you: All these things will be arriving on this generation." 37 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!" 38 Lo! left is your house to you desolate. 39 For I am saying to you: You may by no means be perceiving Me henceforth, till you should be saying, 'Blessed is He Who is coming in the name of the Lord!'"

The blood of Jesus meant salvation to the believing Hebrews.

Hebrews 12:24

LITV 24 and to Jesus the Mediator of a new covenant, and to blood of sprinkling speaking better things than that of Abel.

"The death" does not exist in the new covenant kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 15:26  Literal Interlinear Translation

Last enemy is-being-abolished the death.

If God had removed physical death from His kingdom rather than removing the covenant death, then how would anyone be raised up in the new covenant church without spiritually dying like Adam? If we physically lived forever under law we would become like zombies; dead spiritually but never dead physically. Maybe our zombie culture is the result of humanity going on forever in delayed transition between old and new covenant; dead but never really dying. We say the old covenant is spiritually dead but physically or genetically they can never die. It is past time to preach fullness of life to our culture. The new City of God is the mother of all the living ones not dead ones. I'm sure you can think of other ways for God to rule on earth and populate His kingdom, but this is the way it is happening. Earth (the land) was our birthplace but it is not our eternal place. When we die physically we go to heaven with the new covenant living ones not to hades to join the old covenant dead ones. There is no 2000+ year delay. It took a long 40 years to raise the dead old covenant body into the living new covenant body.

These people are alive and in the new covenant creation today.

John 11:25-26

YLT 25 Jesus said to her, `I am the rising again, and the life; he who is believing in me, even if he may die, shall live; 26 and every one who is living and believing in me shall not die—to the age;

The new body of humanity is now in the new covenant church. We no longer call our church government the Sanhedrin and we don't flogg people in synagogues to try to stop the new covenant transition. Jesus was warning about the unfaithful humanity still in the old covenant church.

Matthew 10:17

YAH SHUA PROPHESIES BETRAYAL
ECB 17 But heed humanity: for they betray you to the sanhedrim; and they scourge you in their synagogues;

Christ is now the head of the new covenant. The old covenant and it's head were put to second death. In a grace filled reversal of the first exodus, the two faithful witnesses died first (John and Jesus) and the unfaithful witnesses who refused to repent died last. The resurrection was the power to reverse the curse of the death. The resurrection of the body took 40 years.

Jewish testimony of resurrection of Yeshua caused the tribulation.

Revelation 1:9

YLT 9 I, John, who also am your brother, and fellow-partner in the tribulation, and in the reign and endurance, of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, because of the word of God, and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ;

2 Timothy 2:8-9

Jesus covenantally died once to rescue His old covenant people from that death. He will never die again.

2 Timothy 1:9-12

YLT 9 who did save us, and did call with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, that was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the times of the ages, 10 and was made manifest now through the manifestation of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who indeed did abolish death, and did enlighten life and immortality through the good news, 11 to which I was placed a preacher and an apostle, and a teacher of nations, 12 for which cause also these things I suffer, but I am not ashamed, for I have known in whom I have believed, and have been persuaded that he is able that which I have committed to him to guard—to that day.

The Jews were first not last.

Romans 1:16

YLT 16 for I am not ashamed of the good news of the Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to every one who is believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek.

They invited us to join their resurrected body of Christ.

Ephesians 3:1-6

YLT 1 For this cause, I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you the nations, 2 if, indeed, ye did hear of the dispensation of the grace of God that was given to me in regard to you, 3 that by revelation He made known to me the secret, according as I wrote before in few words — 4 in regard to which ye are able, reading it, to understand my knowledge in the secret of the Christ, 5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it was now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit— 6 that the nations be fellow-heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in the Christ, through the good news,

They told us we did not have to keep their feast days because they were merely old shadows of the about-to-be new body of Christ. A Jewish betrothal is an impending marriage. They were widowed from eschaton Adam and then engaged to be remarried. They were leaving their old house behind. They, via betrothal at Pentecost, already belonged to Christ. Their church body was already legally His.

Colossians 2:16-17

CLV 16 Let no one, then, be judging you in food or in drink or in the particulars of a festival, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of those things which are impending - yet the body is the Christ's.

Gentiles entering the Jewish betrothal were also being prepared for the new house not the old house.

1 Corinthians 12:27

ECB 27 and you are the body of Messiah and members in particular.

Those Jews killed in the transition tribulation did not have to wait much longer.

Revelation 6:9-11

YLT 9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony that they held, 10 and they were crying with a great voice, saying, `Till when, O Master, the Holy and the True, dost Thou not judge and take vengeance of our blood from those dwelling upon the land?' 11 and there was given to each one white robes, and it was said to them that they may rest themselves yet a little time, till may be fulfilled also their fellow-servants and their brethren, who are about to be killed—even as they.

They even reigned with God after their martyrdom.

Revelation 20:6

 THE FIFTH BEATITUDE
ECB 6 Blessed and holy whoever has part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority: but they become priests of Elohim and of Messiah and reign with him a thousand years.

Thank Yahwey for raising up faithful Jews who took their kingdom resurrection to the nations, even during their transition tribulation.
